DCU Admission Circular 2026

DCU published the official 2025–2026 admission circular on May 27, 2026, formally inviting candidates to apply for 4-year Bachelor of Honours programmes across all three units. The 2025–2026 session marks DCU’s fully autonomous admission cycle with a dedicated portal at dcuadmission.org and dcu.ac.bd.

DCU Admission Circular
  • Candidates who previously applied to the DU 7-college system for 2024–2025 do not need to reapply; their prior application carries forward as valid.
  • Admission fees must be paid through officially designated digital and banking channels only; cash submissions at college counters are not accepted.

DCU Admission Application Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed SSC (or equivalent) between 2020 and 2023, and HSC (or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025, to qualify for the 2025–2026 session. Candidates with HSC passing year 2023 or earlier are not eligible.

Minimum Combined GPA Requirements (SSC + HSC):

UnitCombined GPA (with 4th subject)Combined GPA (without 4th subject)

Second Timer Policy & Marks Deduction Penalty

Candidates applying for the second consecutive session — i.e., those who sat the DCU/DU 7-college admission test in 2024–25 and are reapplying in 2025–26 — remain eligible under DCU’s policy. However, they face a compulsory score penalty:

Mandatory 2-Mark Deduction: A fixed penalty of −2 marks is deducted directly from the raw MCQ test score of every second-time applicant before merit list calculation. This deduction applies regardless of performance and cannot be waived. First-time applicants are exempt.

Exam Pattern, Syllabus & Marks Distribution

Every DCU admission test is 100 marks, 60 minutes, OMR-based MCQ. The final merit score is calculated out of 120, incorporating an additional 20 marks from the candidate’s combined SSC and HSC GPA — 10 marks each. The mandatory pass mark is 40 out of 100; candidates scoring below 40 on the MCQ paper are disqualified from merit ranking regardless of their GPA marks.

0.25 Negative Marking

Each incorrect answer deducts 0.25 marks from the raw MCQ score. Unanswered questions carry zero deduction. Strategically, a candidate who answers 80 questions and gets 20 wrong scores: (60 × 1) − (20 × 0.25) = 55 marks — not 60. Plan your attempt rate accordingly.

Understanding the Merit List, Waiting List, and Quota List Structure

  • Merit List: Ranked by total score (120-point scale) — top scorers receive first college/subject pick.
  • Waiting List: Candidates just below the primary cut-off who become eligible if merit-listed candidates do not complete admission within the deadline.
  • Quota List: Separate allocations for Freedom Fighter descendants (Muktijoddha quota), district quota, and other government-mandated categories — published alongside the main merit list.

DCU Subject Choice Form (SIF) Fill-Up Guidelines

Only candidates who appear on the published merit list (primary or quota) are authorized to access the Student Information Form (SIF) dashboard on dcuadmission.org. Candidates on the waiting list do not fill the SIF until officially promoted to the merit list.

DCU Subject Choice & College Allocation Result

  • Subject Choice Result Date: Published by DCU authority after the SIF submission deadline — typically within 5–7 working days of the SIF window closing.
  • How to Check: Log into dcuadmission.org → click “Allocation Result” → enter roll and OTP → your confirmed college and subject appear on-screen.
